This year has totally upended the way we live and we will all be thinking about ways we can improve our mental and physical health in 2021. Our ode to Christmas…
Every year you promise yourself, you vow, never again, but November arrives and it becomes more a matter of when.
Untangling Christmas tree lights becomes an 11 hour game, baking mince pies, oh the nightmare, why can’t they all look the same!
The madness of that first week-end arriving in December, it’s as though if you don’t do it all you’ll never remember.
The wrapping is endless, becoming your second job, the mulled wine consumed, having a permanent place on the hob.
As December rolls by the Christmas mania increases, if you make it to January, you’ll wonder, ‘will I be in pieces?’
Your bank balance is dropping like a sledge on a slope, good god, you groan, please give me some hope.
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, Christmas week is near, the excitement from the kids makes it ever so hard to hear.
Christmas Eve arrives and the drinks doth flow, stress melts away and you think, it’s not so bad you know.
Christmas morning descends and Grandad’s lost his teeth, wherever will Aunt Audrey sit and dad’s arguing with Uncle Keith.
Dinner is served and before long everyone’s full, they can’t move, then night-time arrives with games, music and Grandma on the groove.
As you climb into bed perhaps a little drunk oh heaven’s above, you remind yourself that Christmas is after all just about love
