My journey as a hairdresser – from inspiration to Obsession
**How it all began**
My journey as a hairdresser began during my school years, inspired by my sister. She became a hairdresser, and I watched in awe as she transformed not only herself but also her clients into style icons. I’ve always had a deep passion for fashion in all its forms, and whilst modelling for my sister I would watch transfixed as the salon stylists worked their magic, effortlessly creating stunning looks. It was clear to me that this was the path I wanted to follow.
**Why Obsession Salon & Spa? **
When it came time to move on from my previous salon, the choice of where to go next was easy. I already had a connection with Karen and Simon from previous collaborations, and I really admired their skills and creativity. Their approach to hairdressing aligned perfectly with my own, so when the opportunity arose, I didn’t hesitate to join Obsession Salon & Spa.
**The art of re-styling**
One of my favourite aspects of being a hairdresser is the opportunity to completely transform a guest’s look. I love the challenge of re-styling and giving someone a fresh, new appearance that brings out their best features. Short and edgy styles are particularly close to my heart, and I enjoy working alongside our colour technicians to create the perfect colour to complement the cut. The combination of a new style and colour can be truly transformative, and I take great pride in being part of that process.
**Advice for guests**
If there’s one piece of advice I would give to my guests, it’s this: always invest in top-quality hair products, and seek advice from professionals. You really do get what you pay for, and using the right products can make all the difference in maintaining healthy, beautiful hair. **Memorable moments in my career**
Looking back on my career, there have been many memorable moments that fill me with pride. In my youth, seeing my work published in magazines and hosting hair shows for the public were standout achievements. I also had the opportunity to travel to salons across the country, teaching skills and performing hair demonstrations, which was incredibly rewarding.

I believe my colleagues would say that my strength lies in short haircuts, and I’m proud to have built a very loyal client base over the years. Some of my guests have been with me for the entire 33 years I’ve been at Obsession Salon & Spa, which is a testament to the trust and rapport we’ve developed.
**Looking ahead: trends and tips**
As for future trends, I’d encourage my clients to keep an eye on the world of fashion, as it often influences what’s happening in hair. Fashion and hairdressing go hand-in-hand and staying informed about one can provide insights into the other.
**Life beyond the salon**
Outside of work, I’m passionate about several activities. I’m an avid marathon runner, and I’ve travelled to various countries to participate in races. I also love travel, theatre, and attending music concerts. Recently, I’ve embarked on a new adventure – sewing lessons. Designing and making my own clothes has been a long-standing dream, and I’m excited to finally bring it to life.
