Although Summer tends to be a favourite amongst the seasons, it can wreak havoc with your skin. In September it’s important to focus on hydrating your skin.
#1 BACK TO BASICS
Having a basic beauty regime is important any time of year, but especially during and after Summer. Get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. You’ll be surprised at the effects those two things have on the look and feel of your skin.
Cleanse twice a day and use a toner to balance the PH levels in your skin. Exfoliate once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and grime. This will allow the products you are using to have a good effect. Use a moisturiser twice a day and choose products suitable for your skin type. It makes a world of difference.
#2 SHOWER POWER
Now the weather has cooled off, avoid the temptation to heat up the shower too much. Hot water will dry out skin further. If you do like a hot shower, make sure the water stream isn’t directly on your face.
#3 SUN SCREEN
Use a moisturiser or foundation with an SPF to protect your skin from the sun all year round. Sun damage is the number one cause of wrinkles. We are all going to age, it’s a natural process of living, but we can limit the amount of damage caused by UV rays to the collagen and elastin fibres within our skin that speeds the natural ageing process.
